Hello Barneys gang!
We’ve aimed to keep you updated with every twist and turn 2020 threw our way but our original blog post was getting a little long so we wanted to start a fresh one.
Covid 19 lockdown changes
Ever since the beginning of Covid restrictions in 2020, we’ve put the safety of our staff first which has meant that the recent changes surrounding UK lockdown restrictions haven’t changed much for us.
All of our team are working from home where possible and we have a much smaller team fulfilling orders in the warehouse, which ensures all team members can keep a safe distance from one another.
We are seeing that our chosen courier – Royal Mail – are being impacted by the changes in certain local areas and this has had a knock on effect on all orders. We temporarily removed next day offerings as we could no longer make the guarantee that they would arrive in time. We want to say thank you to all of your for understanding that this put us in a quite a difficult position for the gifting season.
Currently, we’re experiencing very few delays with domestic parcels – apart from orders under £50 which are shipped via second class.
We are experiencing minor delays with our returns service and would like to remind you that once an item has reached our holding bay at Manchester depot it is marked as ‘arrived’. This does not however, mean that we have processed or received your return.
Brexit shipping changes
As the UK leaves the European Union we are seeing many fluid changes around shipping to EU countries. EU customers may now be subjected to taxes and duties on items coming into their country. Please be aware that all customers are responsible for these charges.
As Brexit changes and Covid challenges combined, we have been advised by DHL that all land deliveries are now switching to air deliveries. This has seen the cost of shipping increase which is now reflected in our shipping & returns FAQ. We are constantly reviewing these costs and hope to bring a more affordable option to you soon.
