From the Team: Trend Report A/W 24
As we move into 'jacket season' the team at Barneys Originals are particularly excited about the predicted trends of 2024. Retiring sun dresses and linen shirts for another year opens up a world of new possibilities as Autumn begins to take hold. Whilst you transition throughout the colder months, here's how navigate the A/W trends of 2024.

Of course I should start with trench coats. I've been developing the Barneys Originals leather trench coat for so long now, simply waiting for its time to shine. I have one of my own and I usually style it alongside chunky boots, jeans, and a relaxed tee for a daytime look, but this also looks great dressed up, so switch out the chunky boots and jeans for a long stiletto boot and a miniskirt. The beauty of a trench is that it is very versatile and can be worn dressed up and down.

I've also been seeing a lot of suede for both menswear & womenswear. Suede is a tricky one as it requires a little more TLC but if you're up for the challenge, it's well worth the investment. The texture of real suede and the impact it has on an outfit is worlds apart from faux options. But I suppose I am bias!
I've actually been working on a suede jacket for this season that is launching soon. We've used brown buffalo suede and the quality is honestly unmatched. The sample has my name written all over it.
I plan to style this with a dark denim straight jean and a plain t-shirt. As it's such a unique texture, suede can elevate any basic outfit.

This season I'm digging out my leopard print pieces. I'll take any excuse to wear this iconic print! I've seen plenty of people online arguing over the specific details of what constitutes as leopard print vs cheetah print - but I'll be honest, it's all the same to me.
Personally I'd recommend going for a relaxed, casual vibe when it comes to leopard print. That's my usual MO when it comes to prints - so that I don't end up looking like Cat Slater from Eastenders. Prints can easily clash and leopard print is so fun that it needs to be the star of the show. A little flash is all you need to nail this trend.

I'm also loving how much chocolate I'm seeing this season. It's a rich brown tone that is so easy to style. Personally, I'm always interested in getting the most millage possible out of my purchases. With that said, I feel like chocolate is the type of colour that suits most occasions and will be versatile enough to slip into my core wardrobe with ease.

As the Barneys music aficionado and editor of the Barneys Beats newsletter, I had been begging the guys to bring in a leather blazer for absolutely ages. This style is having a real moment right now on the big stage with front men everywhere opting for this gorgeous jacket - although in my opinion the mercurial, Marmite Matty Healy of The 1975 fame pulled it off the best.

Can you believe the design team were only finally convinced by the fact it can be worn by women too? Or did they bring it in just to stop my relentless nagging? Either way, I'm so glad we got the leather blazer across the line.
I prefer to style mine with a relaxed fit, smart white t-shirt and black trousers. Combined with some classic DR Martins, this provides a simple but timeless look that is just dripping with cool.
